Authentic English Afternoon Tea in Hong Kong

Victorian Rose Tea Room

17/F, 38 Nathan Hill, 38 Hillwood Road, Tsim Sha Tsui

If you are looking for an authentic and traditional English afternoon tea, this is the place to go. When I stepped into their tea room, I thought I was in a different parallel space. This place has turned back in time to the Victorian period. Whoever loves to drink tea as a queen or a princess, you really have to come here as they provide a huge variety of hair accessories from sparkling crowns to elegant fascinators for you to be wearing during your tea time. It’s not just as simple as drinking tea but also a special experience! The food was good but a bit overpriced. There was one waiter served us like we killed his parents. (I’m serious and I’m not kidding.) But other than that it was a lovely experience except this “exceptional extraordinary customer service”.

Thai Afternoon Tea Set with Harbour View

Blue Elephant Thai Brasserie

Shop 3303 Level 3 Harbour City, Gateway Blvd

Bad customer service could ruin everything; and I could tell you that this one’s in Harbour City was even terrible. I felt so sorry for myself for having paid so much money to have such services. I was attracted by their posters in front of their restaurant since it looked so nice on the photo. I have to admit that I really liked it at first sight because it seemed to have potential for social media platforms. The only thing special in this afternoon tea set was durian tart which I’m not even fond of it therefore I hadn’t even had a go. I guess if you are a fan of durian, you might love it. But once again, photos are always for reference only.

Indoor Beachy Afternoon Tea in a Wooden Box

Espuma

25/F, QRE Plaza, 202 Queen Road East, Wan Chai

This is definitely the summer vibe to have a beach themed afternoon tea indoor! The experience was so cool! A music box playing the sound of wave came with the wooden box which filled with so much savoury and sweets. It's like having an indoor picnic with such a cute setting. I'm not sure if it was meant to be like that but the food arrived cold. I would love it more if they served them warm instead. It was such a fun afternoon tea overall.

Afternoon Tea Time in Tropical Amazon

Kerry Hotel Lobby Cafe

38 Hung Luen Road, Hung Hom, Hong Kong

An afternoon tea from Kerry Hotel crossover a Paris jewellery brand Les Nereides could never disappoint you if you are either a fashion lover or a foodie. This was the most expensive afternoon tea set I've ever had this summer. As you get what you pay for, this set has included everything you would dream of; a delicate bracelet and a shopping coupon from Les Nereides, a rich collection of sweet and savoury gourmets, a nice view, amazing customer service and a free tropical mocktail if you posted a picture of the tea set on Instagram with their hashtag. I first ordered a chocolate with ice and I didn't like it at all... it was too thick and I wanted something fresh instead. And the mocktail saved my life. This afternoon tea was in a high standard and I wish they could lower the price next summer... hahaha!

Yum Cha with Fusion Chinese Afternoon Tea

Dragon Noodles Academy

Man Yee Arcade Shop G04, Man Yee Building, 68 Des Voeux Road, Central

You were wrong if you thought dim sum from Hong Kong couldn‘t be placed on a triple decker dish-rack. This afternoon tea set was so good that I couldn’t find anything to complain with. I loved the fusion of western and Cantonese food. My favourite was the shrimp dumplings with crab! That’s very special as I have never had that in my life before, at least not in a traditional dim sum restaurant. I will definitely come back and try something else because this one was the cheapest one from here I’ve tried this summer!

Overall : ★★★★★

Now you know where to go when you are looking for a good quality afternoon tea...
