Are you visiting Tokyo Disney Resort for the very first time? If yes, you may have asked yourself: "Tokyo Disneyland, or Tokyo Disney Sea?" This question always drive us crazy. Why not both? However, if you really can't make it to both parks, read through the article to find out more about our editor's picks and the highlights of each park. Let's get started!



Tokyo Disneyland - the Classic Disney Theme Park in Japan


Welcome to Tokyo Disneyland - the first Disney park to be built outside the US and the only Disney resort that aren't operated and owned by The Walt Disney Company. Come here to see the Disney's classic characters in person at their houses in the Toontown; or climb up the castle of Cinderella to have a peek of her glass slipper. If you love Disney, this is no doubt a wonderful place for you to visit.

Shows & Parades Highlight:

  • Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights Recommended This spectacular electrical parade lights up the night at Tokyo Disneyland with touching Disney music. It is a fantastic way to enjoy the performance in the nighttime. This only happens once a day so don't miss out if you are around!

  • Mickey's Magical Music World Recommended Disney story has come alive inside a music box, while Mickey Mouse and his friends sing and dance in its magical music world. This original live performance features wonderful theatre's stage sets and effects that everyone is going to love. It requires an Entry Request to secure your seat in the show. Make sure you get a "ticket" before you go!

  • Mickey's PhilharMagic Recommended A revised 4D short mash-up animation allows you to see a few different Disney characters from movies such as Aladdin, the Lion King and Coco. Enjoy the Mickey's concert with Donald Duck today!

  • Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast Recommended This newly opened attraction takes you on board in a magical cup and dance you through this enchanting tale story of Beauty and the Beast. It is like a storybook has come alive and the experience was absolutely speechless. Be prepared to be waiting for more than 100 minutes during weekends; or you could simply purchase a Disney Premier Access for a quicker entry.

  • Minnie's House

  • Star Tours: The Adventures Continue Recommended Board a Starspeeder 1000 and take a Star Tour to an incredible space journey to various planets. The ride was very thrilling. If you are familiar with the film, you will certainly love this attraction!

  • Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek!

  • The Happy Ride with Baymax Recommended Here's another ride that is always busy in the park. The Baymax vehicles whirl you around with exciting music. The atmosphere in the area is excellent! It is like a Disney disco which makes you feel a lot better even when you are in a long queue.


Tokyo DisneySea - the Exclusive Disney Park in the World


Tokyo DisneySea is the only Disney theme park that is inspired by ocean tales and legends. The theme park allows you to travel around the world to places like Italy, America and Mediterranean harbour. This park is less Disney than any other Disneyland in the world; but you will still be able to find Ariel in her Mermaid Lagoon, Nemo in Port Discovery or Genie in Arabian Coast.

Shows & Parades Highlight:

  • Believe! Sea of Dreams Recommended This nighttime performance is an incredible water parade with lights, projections, fireworks and large-scale stage effects, as well as Disney music. The show requires an Entry Request but if you can't get a place, you can still purchase the DPA (Disney Premier Access) to secure your seat. The show is magical and absolutely a great way to complete the day. It's definitely worth your money and time.

  • Big Band Beat: A Special Treat Recommended This is probably the only show in Tokyo Disney Resort that performs fully in English. Mickey Mouse and his pals sing and dance in 30-40s' Jazz style. Great music. Adorable dancing. Absolutely a great place to sit back and enjoy the show if you can get the Entry Request.


Tokyo DisneySea, Japan

Attractions Highlight:

  • Venetian Gondolas

  • Soaring: Fantastic Flight Recommended Join the fantastic flight to enjoy a quick journey to the most famous places of the world. It is a fantastic ride that allows you to travel the world by soaring in just a few minutes. This ride is quite popular in the park - so if the waiting time is over 60 minutes, we recommend you to get a DPA.

  • Toy Story Mania! Recommended This is our favourite ride in Tokyo DisneySea for sure! You get to enjoy some fun carnival games with the characters from Toy Story in Andy's bedroom. The game is exciting, challenging and fun to compete with the player who sit next to you. Waste no time and get a DPA to save some time for another ride!

  • Nemo & Friends SeaRider Recommended Get shrank with the SeaRider and explore the ocean with Nemo and its friends. The journey is fun, exciting, and absolutely wonderful!

  • The Magic Lamp Theatre Recommended The world's "greatest" magician and the Genie from Aladdin is performing a magic show with 3D effect. The show performs in Japanese but it is still quite easy to understand the story. It is totally a great place to relax and have fun.

  • The Mermaid Lagoon Recommended The Mermaid Lagoon is a huge fun-filled area where you'll find various attractions and rides in The Little Mermaid undersea setting. Adults might not enjoy the rides in this area but this place is simply stunning that you should never miss. Kids will love this place.

  • 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

  • Journey to the Centre of the Earth Recommended Hop on this subterranean roller coaster and start a journey to the centre of the earth. This ride is thrilling and adventurous! You will definitely have lots of fun with this!
