Have you imagined going back to the same place in some years later? Three years ago in 2016, I first landed in Reykjavik and I could still remember the very first image in my mind was an empty land covered all by snow everywhere that I saw through the window from the plane. I never thought I would come back but I did it three years later in 2019. This time I took my boyfriend to everywhere that I'd been before, introduced him to the dish I'd tried once, and went on a journey that I didn't experience earlier.

The Incredible View from the Iconic Cathedral Hallgrimskirkja
I didn't even know the cathedral is also an observatory tower until I came here again in 2019. I was so glad that I came and took lots of beautiful pictures of Reykjavik from the top near sunrise time about 11am. The sky gave an extra glory touch for a dull white snowy village. It was freezing but it was worth every penny I paid for the view. It was amazing.
Not to Miss the Sunrise in Reykjavik
Sunrise in Iceland is gorgeous! It's so beautiful that I couldn't find something else to compare it with. It's not only how the sunrise in front made my picture perfect, but also how you can catch sunrise without any struggles of waking up in the very early morning or possibly staying up for the whole night just for a sparkling moment! I have to tell you how easy to catch such beautiful moment as I could see sunrise and also sunset every single day in wintertime!
What is the Taste of Iceland?
Grillmarkaðurinn Lækjargata 2a, 101 Reykjavík, Iceland
This year I came back to the same restaurant that I went twice in 2016. I wondered if they were still in the same standard with high quality of food and service. I think the taste of Iceland wasn't changed much. It's still the same Icelandic taste from my memory. But when I looked at the pictures from the last time, I realised the portion of both dishes (the duck salad and pork ribs) seems to be a lot smaller than the ones from 3 years ago.
The Blue Lagoon Definitely Earned its Name
Blue Lagoon Iceland has been my all-time favourite attraction and it never disappointed me! Although it could get very busy sometimes, I'd say it's still worth a visit. Look at the pictures! Isn't it beautiful? It's a very unique experience of having a spa in front of a snow mountain and all the volcano surroundings. It's not cheap but it's worth every penny that you paid for.
Catch the One and Only Northern Lights in the Dark
One of the must-dos in everyone's checklist during wintertime in Iceland has to be watching the aurora lights! I guess my photography skill has been growing a lot better in 3 year times. My 2019 photos are obviously in higher quality than the 2016 ones. I'm so graceful to be that lucky that I could literally catch Northern lights every single time, not only in Iceland but also in Finland as well. But I have to say that this time in 2019 was the strongest one I've ever seen! It was really jaw-dropping!
Capture the Powerful Geysir in no Time
If you are going to visit the Golden Circle, visiting the Geysir will be on the list. It's hard to predict when a geyser will explode so you should always get your camera ready. I spent around 30 minutes here and I managed to see three times of it! The picture can't do it justice; you have to see and feel it in person.
Pin Gullfoss Waterfall on your Maps
Gullfoss is also within the Golden Circle and it's probably the most popular waterfall in Iceland. It seemed to be a lot colder around the same time in 2019. I'm so happy that I was able to see it again in a better weather condition. There was even a rainbow this time. How lucky I actually was!
This was a fun way to see how a place has either changed or remained the same. I'd still love to come back in Iceland and see it all over again in a different season next time. I'll be back, Iceland!
