Roman Holiday in Real Life

Rome, Italy

Now there is a new holiday on our calendar: Roman Holiday. What would be your Roman Holiday like? We picked some of our favourite filming locations from the famous movie Roman Holiday and followed Princess Ann's footsteps while we were there. Before we came to Rome, everything was our imagination. But now, we have our own Roman holiday!

Most Historical - Colosseum

This is definitely one of the signature sites to represent Rome as everybody thinks of Colosseum when every time they think of Rome. It is not easy to get in there as there is always a long queue outside. But luckily we found a place that you could see the Colosseum from far with less people! You should definitely visit Altar of the Fatherland and from the top over there you could see Rome with the famous Colosseum as a whole! We never realised how historical Rome actually is until we got up there. Well, at lease we didn't see anything very modern from this angle.

Mouth of Truth, Rome, Italy

Most Fun - Mouth of Truth

No one in the world had ever lied. At least in the last 30 minutes when we were in the queue, we never actually see anyone's hand was cut by the Mouth of Truth. Perhaps it is too old so it is no longer functioning? After you have taken the test from it, you could definitely tell the world that you never lied... if you dare, you should absolutely have a go!

Most Crowded - Plaza of Spain

This area Plaza of Spain was insanely crowded when we were there in the afternoon around 4pm. Perhaps it is because: 1. It is really well-known, and 2. This is a shopping area. We were actually ready to have ice-cream on the Spanish Steps. However, the ice-cream melted in a second under this hot weather... how could you have a romantic moment like Audrey Hepburn having an ice-cream in this location? We never succeed.

Trevi Fountain, Rome, Italy

Most Romantic - Trevi Fountain

This place is the most romantic place in Rome. Although it was full of people, we could still manage to throw some coins into the Trevi fountain. Everyone says that the first coin you throw into the fountain guarantees your return to Rome, the second one leads you to a new romance and the third one, of course a marriage! To be honest, we were a bit greedy that we threw quite a few, definitely more than three! Oops! If we did return to Rome someday, we'd be going to throw some more coins and make some new wishes!
